About Us

Precision Metal Fabrication for 75 Years

Founded in 1953, Capital Industries Inc. is a third-generation contract metal fabricator proudly rooted in Seattle, Washington. Operating from a 4.5-acre campus with 145,000 square feet of manufacturing space, our team of approximately 100 skilled professionals brings decades of hands-on expertise to every project.

With more than seven decades of unequaled history and tradition behind us, we have built a reputation as a trusted partner — one our customers rely on for consistent quality and craftmanship. That commitment to excellence is reflected in our ISO 9001:2015 certification, awarded by DEKRA, which validates the rigorous standards embedded in our Quality Management System.

What truly sets Capital Industries apart is the breadth of what we do. We work across a wide range of metals — carbon and alloy steels, aluminum, and stainless steel — in profiles from structural shapes to sheet metal and plate ranging from 20 gauge through 2″ thickness. This versatility, combined with a diverse and loyal customer base and a suite of state-of-the-art equipment, allows us to serve an equally broad range of industries: transportation, marine, oil and gas, refuse and recycling, highway and building construction, food processing and fishing, aerospace tooling, and architectural applications. New business is always welcome, as our client list continues to grow.

Whatever the industry, whatever the metal — Capital Industries has the experience, the capabilities, and the commitment to get it done right.

Our History

Capital Industries was founded in the years following World War II by David Taylor Sr., who recognized a growing demand for industrial metal work within a broad range of local industries. What began as a small garage shop in the early 50’s, Capital quickly developed a reputation as a high standards metal fabricator while establishing strong customer relationships.

As the years went on, Capital continued to grow its footprint and diversify its manufacturing capabilities. Over its history, leadership has transitioned to the second generation, David and Ron, and currently third generation, Bryan and Kyle. Since its founding, the company has continued investing in contemporary fabrication technologies, expanded production capabilities to support more stringent customer specifications, faster turnaround times, and larger-scale fabrication capacity. In more recent times, investments in high-powered industrial laser systems, automated production enhancement systems, and tandem Cincinnati press brakes capable of forming 56-foot long material have positioned Capital Industries to support increasingly complex industrial projects.

Today, the next generation of leadership continues building on that foundation, maintaining the company’s focus on precision fabrication, operational excellence, and long-term growth.

Our People

The People of Capital Industries

Capital Industries believes strong manufacturing credentials start with talented and motivated people working together toward a common goal. It is our challenge and mission to offer the opportunity for each employee to reach his or her ultimate potential. The values to building and maintaining a successful organization are to be a fair and caring employer.

Many members of our team have built long careers at Capital Industries, bringing years of industry experience to life with every project. They came to Capital looking for a fresh start, some not having a metal trades background or skill sets to offer. Recognizing the need for operational flexibility and wanting to accommodate those with an ambition to excel, we emphasize work center cross training to enhance a broader scope of employee development and have on hand the human resource pool to meet changing customer needs. Opportunities abound for those who want to make a career in the metal trades with a veteran and dynamic company.
